I was watching the news today and I saw the earthquake in China…. it was something like a 7.9 on the Richter scale. That’s quite (QUITE!) impressive. I don’t mean a good impressive either. I was watching some of the footage and it’s riDICulous. (I tried the emphasis… I don’t know if it will convey as such, but that’s how I would say it had I spoke it). There’s something like 13000 people dead!! Okay, there’s more than 13000, I just checked. But imagine if a tragedy like that happened here. Granted, China has a HUGE population (what’s with the abundance of caps words today? I feel the need. Forgive me.) so imagine if that toll was here in America. In one centralized area. That would kill a large portion of a state! Insanity. I wish the best for them, it is an awful tragedy. Where the hell do earthquakes like that come from anyway? Well, I really do know the answer, it was more of a rhetorical question. I can only imagine how the families feel there, who don’t know if their loved ones are alive or buried somewhere. We had an earthquake in my parent’s house in Clifton Park (NY) before. It was seriously the scariest thing ever and it was only an aftershock! I probably should have called it that first, before giving it the connotation of an earthquake… you guys probably think this is a really exciting story but it’s not. Trust me. So anyways, for those of you who actually know me, you will know that I believe in ghosts. I won’t delve deep into the subject, but I grew up in a haunted house in NC. (Or for those of you who don’t believe in ghosts, I “thought” the house was haunted, but really there was some magnificent scientific explanation for the mishaps, fires, etc). There was a murder there before we moved in.. blah blah blah. Anyway, I’m going completely off track. So I wake up (we’re back in NY now… I’m hard to follow I know) at 5 in the morning to shaking… and naturally, I’m like ‘what the hell is going on here?’. My dresser was quietly shaking and things were vibrating on it. I’m half asleep and I thought something strange was going on. My parent’s house is weird. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s haunted, but it’s DEFINITELY weird. When my boyfriend stayed with me before we moved here, some pretty creepy stuff happened. Even he was a little weirded out. So, back to my story (again). I go back to sleep since nobody else was awake, and I wake up. I hop online to see if my best friends were awake (who conveniently lived across the street and one street over) and they were. I told them what happened and they had acted like I had 10 heads. They assumed I had a nightmare or… I dunno. They obviously didn’t feel anything. I searched everywhere and couldn’t find anything and NOBODY in my house knew about it. I really thought I was losing my mind. Lo and behold though, on the news later that day, THEY ANNOUNCED IT! HA. It really did happen! Everybody had me afraid I fell off the deep end for a few hours there because I knew I wasn’t dreaming. So long story short… I won. The end. I’m going to the gym now. BYE =D
